I would like to rearrange the order of my Photo Views like I can in the Movie / VR. Putting all the people on a layer and turning it off while working is a must! However, I feel like this wouldn’t be needed if the people simply didn’t animate in build mode. Some of our masterplan files are pretty cpu heavy. I would like the ability to turn OFF people animations while in Build mode. However, the rotate by mouse movement is extremely difficult. The being able to rotate on Insert of an object is awesome. I’m constantly rotating by accident and having to rotate back then press M to move, then R again to rotate. Now with the buttons acting as a toggle on/off my work flow is increased by x2 due to the difficulty remembering to press M again before I Move the next object. I used to be able to select the move icon, move something, then hold R to rotate, then release R and I would be defaulted be back on the move function to move my next object. While the interface does look prettier and less confusing, the Lumion 9.0 Select / Move / Rotate keys is a move backwards in my opinion.
Bug is made worse when I use a pc with a Wacom tablet is attached to the computer.
Stuck moving in a direction caused by windowing out to another program or activating a window on another monitor / wacom.I couldn’t not work on something else while this was going on. I also believe this function wouldn’t progress unless it was the active window. Upgrading a file from 8.5 or below to 9 brings up a window where thumbnails are being created. At 100 images this is easily most of my work day.Ģb. Depending on file size and FX this can take upwards of 3 mins for each click. Each black thumbnail needs to be clicked for new thumbnail to appear. Discovered this while trying to utilize multiple files to store additional rendering slots. Wish I could import a specific photo set instead of replacing all of them. ls9) causes all thumbnails in photos to be black. Merge of Photo Scenes from previous file (both. We are currently playing the replace images we may not need later game and it isn’t going well.Ģa. Each client requires rendering of their building, each consultant requires renderings for studies, and with each retail tenant requiring 3-4 renderings we easily hit the 100 limit of images. We work on large masterplans with multiple clients and consultants and a ridiculous number of potential retail tenants. I would like there to NOT be a limit on the number of Layers, Camera Scenes, Movie Scenes, and VR Scenes.I have a hard time believing that the other 8 gigs is Lumion elements, scenes, and such. Adding up the total size of the files actually inserted into the model is just over a gig. This file is up to 9 gigs and growing steadily each save. It seems that old copies of the files we insert are being stored into the file.
However, now we are experiencing the same problem in another file that has never utilized design options. Essentially, we rebuilt 50% of the model. Upon completely deleting out the files that used design options and re-importing the models then reapplying all the textures we were able to lower the file size to a respectable 6 gigs (from 12 gigs). They concluded that it had to do with design options. From what I understand this problem was previously brought up to a member of the Lumion team by one of our Principles. Texture itself was simply sketchup colors. One time I simply changed a few textures in SketchUp and reloaded the file to find it increased in size by an entire gig. Usually 10-30mb but Sometimes significantly (300mb to 1gig). Yet, upon saving, the file will go up in size. Sometimes I will reload a sketchup model that is actually smaller than the file currently loaded into Lumion. Lumion needs a Purge file function of sorts. Sometimes to the point of no longer being openable or savable. – Lumion files are unjustifiably increasing in size by significant amounts upon saving.Since i cant post on Lumion forums I will post here:
Seems like whenever or whoever you guys got to do this interface change was a mistake. I cant even work without restarting the program every few times I insert an object.
